France’s far-right leader Marine Le Pen said Sunday that she would support the U.K. re-entering a reformed version of the European Union.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Le Pen said that she regretted “a little” the fact that Britain would not be around to help change the EU from within and bolster the role of nation states.

“Britain voted to leave the EU — it did not vote to leave Europe,” said Le Pen, who leads the Euroskeptic National Rally party. “An alliance of European nations will be the future and the U.K. could come back. The choice should be between leaving and staying in a reformed EU.”

British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit negotiations with Brussels have failed because she was “playing the game of the EU,” according to Le Pen, who added: “The EU wanted the deal to go this way.”

“Money should not be the driver of everything. We are citizens of somewhere, not citizens of nowhere. We cannot waste this by multiculturalism,” she said, explaining that she saw herself as sharing the same political agenda as U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“It is the nation, the nation state. Only the EU cannot see it,” she said.
